Know When to Replace Brake Pads

No matter how cautiously you drive and care for your brake pads, you’ll need to have them replaced at one point or another. Replacing your brake pads at the right time can even save you money!

Know When Your Rotors Are Bad

Noisy brakes. One of the first symptoms commonly associated with bad brake rotors is noise. If the rotors are warped (meaning not perfectly flat) or severely worn, they may produce squealing or squeaking sounds. Usually warped rotors will produce a squeak, while severely worn rotors will produce a scraping sound.

Know What Happens With A Spongy Brake Pedal

If air gets into the lines, it can prevent the fluid from flowing properly, causing the brake pedal to feel spongy. A process called “bleeding the brakes” gets rid of the air. Air in the brake line(s) is the most common cause of a soft brake pedal.
